Research structures
Research activity takes place within specific structures, which can be identified on the basis of their different operating manners and aims.
In the proposed scheme, the departments are organisational structures for scientific research within disciplinary sectors that are the same in terms of aims or methods, including professors and research associates carrying out research activity with independent aims or in limited groups. Alongside the departments, there are other categories of Centres that are defined by the Statute, and that are the headquarters for specific research activities.
