Tourism, Agri-food and Cultural Heritage

The research area focuses on territorial identity as a lever of innovation for economic and social development. Characterized by a strong interdisciplinary nature, the research area works on themes for social innovation such as: sustainable tourism, rural development, cultural and creative industries.

The methodological approach builds on a deep relationship with public and private subjects, with the goal of co-creating new ideas, services and models for an inclusive and sustainable territorial development.

Research themes:

- Cultural tourism and development of ecosystems able to valorise typical products (food and crafts) in touristic routes

- Territorial marketing, place branding and Made in Italy

- Generational turnover, gender equality and youth employment in the productions and services characterising the Region

- Cultural Heritage

The area’s work moves within the European policies for social innovation, for the enhancement of cultural heritage and for rural development, contributing to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
